Monitor or Change CPU Frequency / Speed in Ubuntu

Want to run in power saving mode or if you want to have Ubuntu scale your CPU frequency as per the demand or if you want it to run at full capacity at all times! You can achieve all this by using the CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor. You can add it to the Top or bottom panel by right click on it and then selecting the Add to Panel option.

Now from the popped up box choose the CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor and click on the Add button.

This is going to add a small icon to your Panel, by clicking on it you can choose between the various options available for Frequency Scaling, like the ones shown below, for light use, choose the Powersave, and for standard use you can go for Ondemand.
