You can use your iPod Touch or iPhone as air mouse/keyboard using Mobile Air Mouse Pro. And it would cost you only $1.99 (as of Jan 6, 2010). You just need to install the free server program on your desktops/laptops (it supports both Windows 7 and Snow Leopard). On windows 7 after the installer finishes, windows would ask if you want to allow the program network access, say yes to that.
Now install the Mobile Air Mouse Pro on your iTouch/iPhone from the app store. Fire the app and it would detect all the computers running the server. Choose the computer you want to control, if you have server running on multiple computers on your network. This app makes your ipod/iphone screen a virtual touchpad, with multitouch support as well as advanced shortcut keys for browsers, media players etc. To top it all it has a full featured keyboard to boot. Best part is that you won’t have to see the computer screen to see what you are typing or what windows is selected, as all this information gets displayed on your virtual touchpad. The mouse movement felt very nice without any lag, and there is an option to change the mouse acceleration level. All in all $1.99 well spent, and I would say it is a very useful product for all HTPC owners.
