Gone are the days, one needed to do a lot of tinkering with command line utilities to create Windows 7 USB Boot Drive. Thanks to Microsoft for giving Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (should have been called USB /DVD creation tool). Download the tool from the link included and install it. Creating bootable USB drive or burning Windows 7 iso files using it is just a few mouse clicks away. Launch the program and browse to choose the Windows 7 ISO file that you want to create bootable disk with.

Hit next.

If you want to burn a DVD, choose the DVD option, but we are interested in creating bootable USB device, so choose that option.

Now select the USB device you want to use and hit Begin copying option. Remeber your USB drive would be formatted, so don’t leave any data on it that you might need later. Best to use an empty drive.

That is all. Your USB device with bootable Windows 7 installation is ready for use.
