iPhone and iPod 4G face time feature is currently of no use. If you want to do video conferencing with people who are not using iPhone or the latest generation iPods. Strangely enough Skype had been keeping quite on this front and they haven’t updated the iOS version of Skype to support the camera on iPhones and iPod touchs, but not any more latest version of Skype offers Video call feature on iPhones (both 3G and Wifi) as well as iPod Touch 4G and it is free. Other solutions include good old Yahoo messenger and not so popular Fring! While Yahoo messenger works very well on Wifi! I cannot comment on its usefulness on 3G etc. Remember none of these softwares allow you to call across the IM domains, i.e. you cannot make Video call to Skype users using Fring which otherwise allows you to connect with your friends irrespective of their IM domain. Skype seems to be the best bet for video conference calls using iPhone / iPod Touch 4G.
