Subsonic Plugin for XBMC 12 Frodo
You love XBMC and can’t live without Subsonic! Then why not get them to entertain you together. I came across this XBMC subsonic-plugin while searching for the same a few months back. So the credit goes to the developers who were responsible for hacking some old code and getting it to work for XBMC 12.0. I do not have their names / ids to properly acknowledge them, accept my apology for the same.
Installation is simple and best done manually. Download this zip file containing subsonic-plugin and extract it to reveal two folders in it:
- userdata: copy contents of this (which is a single file advancedsettings.xml) in to userdata folder inside your .xbmc folder in your home folder for Linux and in C:/Users/Windows_User_Name/AppData/Roaming/XBMC folder (note that backward slash has been replaced with /) for Windows based system.
- addons: contents of this folder (another folder called plugin.audio.subsonic) should be copied to addons folder inside .xbmc folder in your home folder for Linux and in and in C:/Users/Windows_User_Name/AppData/Roaming/XBMC folder (note that backward slash has been replaced with /) folder for Windows based system.
After this launch XBMC and configure the plugin with Subsonic server settings and enjoy.
